Van Hai Nguyen
Bio
Hai graduated in Medicinal Chemistry from Charles University in Prague, where he worked in Prof. Michal Hocek’s group on the synthesis of fluorinated nucleosides. Before starting his PhD, he worked as a chemist at BIOCEV. He is currently completing his PhD at the University of Warsaw, focusing on nucleoside-modified mRNA cap analogues in the group of Prof. Jacek Jemielity and Prof. Joanna Kowalska. During his doctoral studies, he also completed an IOCB internship in the Cahová group as part of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship, broadening his experience at the interface of chemistry and biochemistry.
Role
Hai specializes in nucleoside, nucleotide, and phosphorus chemistry. He contributes to complex synthesis projects, route optimization, purification, and analytical characterization backed by his medicinal chemistry background.
