Trong earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry at Charles University, Prague. He carried out his doctoral research in the lab of Ullrich Jahn at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. His research focused on transition metal catalysis, asymmetric synthesis, and complex organic synthesis, including demanding total syntheses. His background combines strong synthetic intuition with a persistent approach to solving complex chemistry challenges.

Trong focuses on demanding organic synthesis projects and the preparation of complex target molecules. He develops and optimizes synthetic routes for compounds that are challenging to access or scale.
