Description

Cladribine is 2′-Deoxyadenosine in which the hydrogen at position 2 of the purine ring has been replaced by chlorine. It inhibits DNA synthesis and repair, mostly in lymphocytes and monocytes, and is used as an antimetabolite antineoplastic medication to treat lymphoid malignancies such as hairy-cell leukaemia and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. It serves as an antineoplastic and immunosuppressive agent. It’s a purine 2′-deoxyribonucleoside and an organochlorine chemical.
