Description

Ganciclovir triphosphate (also known as ganciclovir-TP) is the active form of the antiviral medication ganciclovir. It works by interfering with the replication of cytomegalovirus (CMV), a type of herpesvirus. Ganciclovir itself needs to be converted inside the body into ganciclovir triphosphate to become effective. This conversion is done by enzymes in CMV-infected cells, making the drug particularly effective against this virus.
